Not so long ago Audio-Technica introduced two models of in-channel dynamic best bluetoot headphones – LS50iS and LS70iS for advanced users: BTE mount, interchangeable wires, branded dual 8.8 mm drivers.
They are also united by a new concept of Live Sound , meaning that these models produce a more vibrant and vigorous sound, unlike other headphones. A simple appearance, plastic and a wide variety of body colors have made the models relatively affordable.
So, remembering different models of Audio-Technica, one should expect surprises, because this company pays attention to the sound more often than to the appearance.
There is nothing special: compact cardboard boxes, inside which besides headphones there are several different attachments and a carrying bag. Nothing extra.
Headphones look the same and you can only distinguish them by colors. Red and yellow – LS50iS, gray – LS70iS. As expected, the older model, the LS70iS is available only in this color, while the LS50iS are still blue and black. All data models have a control panel and a headphone(check here: http://headphonecode.com/) , compatible with the iPhone.
BTE mounts impose certain limitations on the design and design of the headphones, so if you have never had such, the first time will need to be addictive. The dense part of the cable, passing just behind the ear, remembers the shape of the bend, providing a more comfortable wearing.
The differences between the models lie in one important detail. In LS70iS , in addition to the dual symphony 8.8 mm driver, a diaphragm with a carbon coating is applied , which, according to the idea of the creators, makes the sound more powerful, detailed and wider.
Because of this small detail, the LS70iS headphones are almost twice as expensive as the LS50iS. But is there such a huge difference in sound? For comparison, the Astell & Kern AK70 player was used with pre-loaded tracks in uncompressed audio formats.
The LS50iS headphones produce a powerful and detailed sound, a bit harsh on the top, but with excellent bass and a high-quality mid-range. To the width of the scene and the depth of sound no complaints, with this all is well.
LS70iS sound wider and purer , more neat at high frequencies and with less heavy bass. The instruments are more distinct, but I can not say that the overpayment definitely costs this difference in sound.
Audio-Technica does not change itself: for simple appearance and materials, once again there are excellent headphones with an outstanding sound. If you are closer to heavy genres with massive bass, then you will like LS50iS . They are also more suitable for wiretapping with iPhones and other smartphones.
But for more instrumental music with a focus on the middle and high paired with a high-end player, the LS70iS is best suited . Well, the concert recordings in the LS70iS sound much palatable.
